In a league where just the regular season lasts 82 games, few things are as important as rest and recovery. Drafted more than a decade ago, Harden knows the importance of taking care of his body so that he can continue to perform at the highest level. He started using the Theragun during his time with the Houston Rockets and hasn’t looked back since.
Becoming a Therabody Investor
In fact, Harden was so convinced of Therabody products that he decided to be more than an avid user. Alongside other world-famous athletes including Kevin Durant and Aaron Rodgers, he made an investment in the company in early 2021.
“I had used Therabody products before I became an investor, so I had knowledge of the brand going in, which spurred my investment,” the 9-time NBA All-Star told Insider when asked about his decision to acquire a part of the company.
“I loved that Theragun rebranded into Therabody last year and expanded the products and services they offer— they are really setting out to break down barriers in the wellness space,” he continued. “[…] There is so much more to come for them, and I’m excited to be a part of that growth.”
And when the Theragun PRO is already part of your daily routine, you are one of the world’s most famous athletes and are an investor in the company behind it, it only made sense for both sides to take the partnership to the next level.
Becoming a Therabody Athlete
That’s why in May 2021, Harden became the latest Therabody Athlete, joining a lineup that now includes Paul George, Tyler Herro, and Pau Gasol. Harden believes that everybody can benefit from using percussive and compression therapy – and his goal is to help people understand what these devices can do for them.
“[…] I don’t think these products or technologies should be just for the professional athlete, and Therabody is aligned in that. I loved that Theragun rebranded into Therabody last year and expanded the products and services they offer— they are really setting out to break down barriers in the wellness space,” the shooting guard explained.
“I think specifically within the last year, people are more aware than ever about how they are treating their bodies and what it needs to feel its best— mentally and physically. Everyone deserves self-care, and by partnering with Therabody, I hope I’ll show the world how accessible it is to proactively take care of the mind and body.”
