Julianne Hough uses the Theragun PRO and Theragun mini massage guns, as well as the pneumatic compression device RecoveryAir PRO to help her relax and recover from her busy life as a professional dancer, actress, singer, and businesswoman.
Hough didn’t always pay that much attention to recovery and her personal wellbeing. “[…] For years I didn’t take care of myself. I would just keep pushing, thinking my body wouldn’t give out, but it started to,” recalls the Emmy Award-winning choreographer.
“Taking care of my body helps me be the best version of myself. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t be able to show up for the people in my companies, or my friends, or my family in the best way,” Hough explained.
Recognizing the positive effects of recovery and relaxation on herself, the former Dancing with the Stars dancer and judge decided to partner with Los Angeles, California-based recovery and wellness technology company Therabody.
In fact, before becoming a brand ambassador, Hough had already invested in the company alongside celebrities like Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, and professional athletes including James Harden, Kevin Durant, and Maria Sharapova during a funding round in early 2021.
“Founding businesses and investing in brands that I believe in is super important to me. Movement is what we’ve been doing our entire lives. If you look at babies, the first thing that they do when they hear music in their high chair, they just start moving their body,” Hough said.
“[…] I became familiar with Theragun, before they were Therabody, after seeing the products in and around the dance world a few years ago. Ever since I started using Theragun, I recognize the freedom within my overall mobility,” she continued.
“Nothing feels better when you move how you want to be moved versus the restriction that you feel when your body is telling you, “You can’t move that way.” […]”
