What Massage Gun Do the Kansas City Chiefs Use?

The Kansas City Chiefs use the Hypervolt Plus massage gun and other recovery technology devices and tools provided by Hyperice to optimize player performance and to help their players prepare for and endure the rigors of a long football season.

For Irvine, California-based Hyperice, the deal with the Chiefs is the first partnership with an individual NFL team after becoming the Official Recovery Technology Partner of the NFL. Similar deals with the Seattle Seahawks and Dallas Cowboys would follow.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who is both an investor and athlete ambassador for Hyperice, obviously welcomed the news about the partnership. “Hyperice is an integral part of my training, game day warmup, and recovery,” the Super Bowl LIV MVP explained in a statement.

“Now that Hyperice is an official partner of Chiefs, it’s great for fans to recognize Hyperice as the technology we utilize for recovery.”

The team’s fanbase will get behind the scenes access to Mahomes’ and his teammates’ preparation and recovery routines as part of the deal, which will also see Hyperice technologies being integrated into the recently opened 37,000 square foot state-of-the-art health, wellness, and recovery facility Chiefs Fit.

Statement by Jim Huether, Hyperice CEO

“Today’s announcement doubles down on our existing partnerships with the NFL and individually with Patrick Mahomes as we look to champion the importance of recovery technology for Chiefs players and fans alike,” said Jim Huether, CEO of Hyperice.

“We now have the opportunity to positively affect players’ career longevity, while introducing the Chiefs’ fanbase to tools and technologies that will help them move better.”

Statement by Mark Donovan, Kansas City Chiefs President

“Physical health and recovery are key components to any team’s success, and we are very excited to be the first NFL team to partner with Hyperice, the industry leader in recovery technology and equipment,” Chiefs President Mark Donovan said.

“Vice President of Sports Medicine and Performance Rick Burkholder and his team have long relied on the technology and tools provided by Hyperice to help our players prepare for – and endure – the rigors of a long football season,” Donovan continued.

“In addition to welcoming Hyperice to our stadium and our practice facility, we’re thrilled to be bringing Hyperice technology and equipment to Chiefs Fit as we help Chiefs Kingdom experience the benefits that Hyperice technology is already offering our players.”

About the Kansas City Chiefs

Founded in 1960 and originally based out of Dallas, Texas, the franchise moved to its current location in Kansas City, Missouri only three years later. The Chiefs were part of the American Football League until 1969 and won the league title three times during those nine years.

During their final year in the AFL, the Chiefs defeated the Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl IV to win their first Super Bowl championship. But after the merger between the AFL and NFL in 1970, the franchise struggled to achieve similar postseason success in the following decades.

The Chiefs had to endure a 50-year-drought until they could finally hoist the Super Bowl again after beating the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV. They would reach the Super Bowl again the following season but end up being defeated by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
