What Massage Gun Do the Los Angeles Dodgers Use?

The Los Angeles Dodgers use the Theragun PRO massage gun, the Wave Roller, and the clinical pneumatic compression device RecoveryAir PRO provided by Therabody to help improve player health and overall team performance.

Ahead of the 2021 season, Therabody built a custom section in the dugout for players to use their recovery devices during games and workouts. Additional carts of devices are available to the athletes in the bullpen, weight room, and recovery room at Dodger Stadium.

First baseman Cody Bellinger is already an avid user of recovery technology. “With the length of the baseball season and the quick turnaround time between games, it’s so important to keep my body in the best shape possible,” Bellinger explained.

“Therabody allows me to recover quicker and more efficiently, helping me stay in great shape and keeping my body consistent and even keel through 162 games.”

For the Los Angeles, California-based company, the partnership with the Dodgers is one of three agreements with individual MLB franchises – the other two being the Atlanta Braves and the Miami Marlins.

Statement by Dr. Jason Wersland, Founder and Chief Wellness Officer of Therabody

“I’m thrilled that we have been selected by this incredible team to help improve the wellbeing of their players,” said Dr. Jason Wersland, Founder and Chief Wellness Officer of Therabody.

“Supporting athletes in any sport is core to who we are, and each athlete — especially in baseball — cares for their bodies differently depending on which position they play,” Dr. Jason continued.

“Being able to customize each player’s protocol, and provide them with the technology, research, and education around how they can effectively take care of themselves will be key throughout the course of a 162-game season.”

Statement by Brandon McDaniel, Dodger Director, Player Performance

“We’re thrilled to partner with Therabody to make their industry-leading products available to our players,” said Dodger Director, Player Performance Brandon McDaniel.

“With performance and recovery being significant priorities for our organization, this partnership with Therabody will ensure that we’re equipped with the technology that we need to put our players in the best position to succeed.”

About the Los Angeles Dodgers

Founded in 1883 and originally based in Brooklyn, New York, the Dodgers relocated to their current location in Los Angeles in 1958. In 1947, Jackie Robinson became the first African-American to ever play in the MLB when he made his debut for the team.

Eight years later, the franchise won its first World Series against the New York Yankees after losing to their then local rivals in five consecutive matchups before that. The team also found immediate success in California by winning the 1959 World Series against the Chicago White Sox.

In total, the Dodgers have won seven World Series championships so far, with the latest one coming in 2020 following a 32-year long title drought. According to Forbes magazine, the Dodgers are the second most valuable MLB franchise at a valuation of $3.4 billion.
