Competing in Ligue 1, Coupe de France, the UEFA Champions League, and often their respective national teams, PSG players are placed under constant strain. Forwards Neymar and Lionel Messi are also among the most fouled players in the game.
So in order to help prevent injuries and optimize performance on the field over the course of a long season, the most successful club in French football started integrating Therabody’s research-driven products and solutions in early 2021.
“The virtues of Theragun percussive massage therapy are trusted by our staff and players,” said Christophe Baudot, Football Chief Doctor at Paris Saint-Germain. “This collaboration will benefit the players further by integrating Therabody’s leading science-based solutions and products to optimize and sustain whole-body wellness both on the pitch and at home.”
Official Recovery Partner of Paris Saint-Germain
“Paris Saint-Germain is renowned as one of the most innovative clubs in the world, both on and off the pitch,” added Dr. Jason Wersland, Founder and Chief Wellness Officer of Therabody.
“We’re honored that they have chosen Therabody to develop effective activation and recovery protocols with their team, and we look forward to taking their player performance — and overall wellness — to the next level.”
The news of the partnership comes only shortly after Therabody teamed up with Premier League champions Manchester City. Real Madrid, FC Bayern, Arsenal FC, AC Milan, and Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo are also partners of the Los Angeles, California-based company.
About Paris Saint-Germain
Paris Saint-Germain is the most successful football club in France. Founded only in 1970, the club has won over 40 titles so far, including nine league titles.
PSG holds the record for most consecutive seasons in the top division of French football and is one of only two French teams that have won a major European title, the other one being Olympique de Marseille.
After a successful spell during the 1990s, the club failed to achieve the same level of success in the early 2000s despite having players like Nicolas Anelka and Ronaldinho in their lineup. Paris was almost relegated during the 2007-08 campaign, saved only by a narrow win in the final match of the season.

The club’s fortunes changed dramatically when they were acquired by Qatar Sports Investments in 2011, making PSG one of the wealthiest in the world. Spending heavily on well-known players, they managed to dominate French football in the years since and reached their first UEFA Champions League final in 2020.
Neymar and Kylian Mbappé, the two most expensive players in football history, both play for PSG. In August 2021, the club also managed to add free agent Lionel Messi to the lineup after the Argentinian unexpectedly was unable to sign an extension with his former club Barcelona.
